Crusaders Set to Compete for 2012 Patriot League Championship Title at Army

The No. 2 seeded Holy Cross baseball team (32-20), seeking its first Patriot League title, will play No. 1 seeded Army (39-12) in a best-of-three series beginning with two games Sunday (noon, 2:30). If Game 3 is necessary, it will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The winner of the championship series takes home the Patriot League crown and earns a bid into a NCAA baseball regional.

This is the second appearance that the Crusaders are making over a three year span in the Patriot League championship series. The team has made four Patriot League tournament appearances in five seasons.

On May 12, Holy Cross topped Navy in back-to-back games to advance past the semifinal round, winning by scores of 1-0 and 4-2. No. 1 seed Army swept No. 4 seed Lafayette on that same Saturday, winning out 8-7 and 6-3. Read more on GoHolyCross.com
