Holy Cross Football Scores on 2006 All-Patriot League Teams

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore was selected as the Patriot League Coach of the Year.  In addition, seven players were placed on the 2006 All-Patriot League football teams.

Senior cornerback Casey Gough, junior wide receiver Ryan Maher, senior offensive tackle Hall McMillan and senior offensive guard Andrew Schoepfer were all named to the All-Patriot League first team; while senior linebacker Dan Adams, junior wide receiver Thomas Harrison and senior defensive end John Markus Pinard were second team selections.

Coach Gilmore led the Crusaders to an overall record of 7-4 this season, including a third place finish in the Patriot League with a 4-2 mark in conference games. This year, Holy Cross posted its best overall record and its best league mark since 2000.

Gilmore's team led the Patriot League in several statistical categories, including total offense (384.4 yards per game), passing offense (271.5 yards per game), pass efficiency defense (108.4 rating), first downs (239) and third down conversions (46.3 percent). This came with a team which returned only 11 out of 22 starters from a year ago, including only three starters coming back on offense. Gilmore has now led the Crusaders to a 13-9 overall mark during the last two seasons, and owns a career record of 16-17.
