Women's Basketball to Host Third Annual 'Get Fit with the Crusaders Day' More than 1,000 local school children to watch Crusaders take on Bobcats Read Time 1 Minute Press Releases On Wednesday, Dec. 18, the College of the Holy Cross women"s basketball program will host its third annual "Get Fit with the Crusaders Day” when it takes on Quinnipiac at 11:30 a.m. at the Hart Center. More than 1,000 Worcester public school students will be in attendance to cheer on the Crusaders and to learn about nutrition and physical activity. Holy Cross faculty and staff are invited to attend free of charge.“This is a great opportunity for local elementary and middle school students to see Holy Cross and the student-athletes compete,” says associate head coach Ann McInerney. “They also get a chance to learn about physical activity and eating healthy.”The students will watch the Crusaders take on the Bobcats and then at halftime Holy Cross head strength and conditioning coach Jeff Oliver and dietitian an Kathy Egan will give a presentation about eating right and exercising.The women’s basketball team has had a stellar start to the season with a 6-1 record, triumphing over historically successful teams including UMass Amherst and Northeastern.
