Comedian and Actor Dane Cook to Perform at Holy Cross

Dane Cook, comedian, actor and director, will give a stand-up comedy performance at 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, in the Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center. Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the event is free and open to the public.

A Boston native, Cook started his career performing stand-up comedy at local clubs in Massachusetts. He got his start in acting in the ABC sitcom, "Maybe This Time," with Betty White. He later moved on to guest star on the NBC hit sitcom, "Suddenly Susan," with Brooke Shields.

Cook made his feature film debut with Rene Russo in Columbia's release, "Buddy." He has also appeared in the movie, "Mystery Men," with Ben Stiller, Greg Kinnear and Janeane Garofalo. Cook co-starred in the action-comedy film, "Simon Sez," with Dennis Rodman.

Cook recently taped his half-hour special, "Comedy Central Presents...Dane Cook," for the Comedy Central Network. His other stand-up television credits include four appearances on CBS's "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn," Comedy Central's "Premium Blend," Showtime, and ABC's "American Comedy Festival to Benefit Comic Relief."

Recently, Cook wrote, produced, and starred in "Spiral," a short film that is currently being shown at film festivals nationwide. The film won "Best Director" honors at the prestigious Newport Beach Film Festival. He has also written a feature length film, "Thieves Fortune," which is currently being circulated in Los Angeles.
