Holy Cross to Hold Panel on Forgiveness in Post-Conflict Societies

WORCESTER, Mass. – There will be a panel on forgiveness in post-conflict societies on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Rehm Library of Smith Hall. The panel, titled "Forgiveness and the Aftermath of Contemporary Crimes Against Humanity," is part of the College's semester-long series of events that explore the theme of forgiveness in a variety of cultural, political, social, economic and religious contexts.

The speakers are as follows:

Marguerite Feitlowitz, an independent scholar, will speak on the topic, "Argentina: Forgiveness(?) in the Face of Impunity."

Anita Isaacs, Stinnes Professor of Global Studies at Haverford College, will speak on the topic, "Guatemala and the Challenges of Forgiveness."

Sponsored by the Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture, the panel is free and open to the public.
