"13" Senior Art Exhibition to be Displayed at Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery at the College of the Holy Cross presents a new exhibition titled, "13: Senior Concentration Seminar Exhibition." It will feature works by students in the Class of 2002 from the Holy Cross visual arts department. The exhibition will be on display from Thursday, April 25, through Friday, May 24.

There will be a preview reception on Wednesday, April 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Gallery. In addition, the Gallery will host presentations by the students on their research and final body of work on Monday, April 29, at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The artists are as follows: Erik Berge, Tom Burke, Bonnie Chan, Michele Gasiewski, James Groom, Lifon Huynh, Oyekunle Jegede, Drew Johnsen, Myron Macauley, Marta Melo, Alexandra Mosher, Hank Prendergast and Peter Scifo.

Each student is enrolled in the two-semester "Studio Concentration Seminar" which cumulates in a public presentation of selected work from their portfolios generated during their senior year. The exhibition will include works in drawing, painting, photography, mixed-media sculpture, digital photograph and installation. The design and installation of this group show will also be the result of student planning and participation under the direction of Visual Arts Professor Stephen Burt and Cantor Gallery Director Roger Hankins.

The hours for the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery are Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Gallery is located on the first floor of O'Kane Hall at the College of the Holy Cross, 1 College Street, Worcester, Mass., 01610. Admission to the Gallery is free; it is wheelchair accessible.
