Pax Christi "Practice What You Preach Week"

A Week Dedicated to Living Out the Message of the Gospels

Please join Pax Christi Holy Cross in celebrating "Practice What You Preach Week," and strive to live out the Gospel message more fully in your own life! Pax Christi has a number of events planned that will give students the opportunity to learn more about the current situation in Iraq, to donate food and clothes, to write letters to prisoners, and to reflect upon how to integrate the Gospel into your own life. Monday, March 22: Iraq Panel Come enjoy a light lunch and hear four professors discuss the current situation in Iraq, the role of the U.S. and the U.N., as well as the future of Iraq in the Levis Browsing Room (Dinand Library) from 12-1 p.m. Students, faculty and staff are all welcome.

Tuesday, March 23: Feed the Hungry Starting Tuesday, use your extra meals to purchase non-perishable food items and drop them off in Coolbeans, Crossroads, and Lower Kimball. All donated items will go to the food pantries at Jeremiah’s Inn and Rachel’s Table. Get educated about issues surrounding hunger and homelessness at Pax Christi’s information table in Hogan. Wednesday, March 24: Clothe the Naked Beginning Wednesday, drop off your unwanted clothes in boxes found in each residence hall’s entrance way and common/laundry room, or at Pax Christi’s Hogan table. All donated clothes will go to Jeremiah’s Inn. Learn more about homelessness at Pax Christi’s information table in Hogan.

Thursday, March 25: Visit the Prisoners Stop by Pax Christi’s table in Hogan to write an anonymous letter to a prisoner, or send a prayer card or your favorite prayer. Get more information about prison issues, especially the death penalty, at Pax Christi’s information table in Hogan.

Friday, March 26: Campion Reflection: Living out the Gospel Come to Campion House at 5 p.m. for a simple dinner and reflection on living out the Gospel of nonviolence. How does one live out the Gospel in the modern world? What is particularly difficult, and/or meaningful about attempting to do this? Students, faculty and staff are all welcome!

All of the week’s events are sponsored by Pax Christi Holy Cross, a chapter of Pax Christi USA, the Catholic peace organization.
