Holy Cross Hosts New England Latino Student Leadership Conference

WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross and the Latin American Student Organization, along with NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators) Region I, will host the third annual New England Latino Student Leadership Conference on Feb. 18 and 19. Two politicians from Massachusetts will be featured as guest speakers.

Felix Arroyo, Councilor-at-Large (Boston, Mass.) will serve as guest speaker on Feb. 18 from 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. in the Hogan Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center.

Gladys Rodriguez-Parker, District Director for U.S. Rep. James McGovern (D-Mass.), will serve as guest speaker on Feb. 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Hogan Ballroom of the Hogan Campus Center.

The conference, open to the Holy Cross community, intends to bring together the top student leaders from across New England to engage in dialogue around important Latino issues and to provide a forum for students, faculty, staff and community members to connect and develop lasting relationships.

The conference provides an experience for student leaders to network and find common solutions for common problems and to build strong Latino leaders. It also offers the opportunity to empower and advocate the Latino community and its leaders, helping to build a strong community and nation.

The theme of this year’s conference is "Striving Toward Our Destiny: Using Our Past and Present to Build the Future."
