Cyclist/AIDS Researcher to Talk About Upcoming Cross-Country Race to Raise Money for AIDS Research

WORCESTER, Mass. – Patrick Autissier will give a talk about his participation in Race Across America: From San Diego to Atlantic City, an almost non-stop 3,000-mile bike race from San Diego, Calif. to Atlantic City, N.J., on March 18 at 5:30 p.m. in Stein Hall, Room 116 at the College of the Holy Cross.

The race, which starts June 21 and ends July 2, is intended to raise money for AIDS research. Autissier will answer questions in English and French (which will be translated) during an informal reception following his presentation in English.

Autissier is an HIV vaccine researcher at Harvard Medical School, where he is at the frontier of developing a vaccine against AIDS. The race will help raise funds for the innovative research.

Autissier will talk about how he first heard in his native France about the race and then set out to realize his dream to participate.

Autissier’s Web site www.patrickautissier.org includes information on the race and how to support the effort.
