Listen to More Than 300 Voices at the Choruses of the Worcester Consortium

The Choruses of the Worcester Consortium invite you to Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana (Cantiones Profanae) for Chorus Soli and Orchestra under the direction of Christie Nigro on May 1 at 3 p.m. in Mechanics Hall, 321 Main St. The show will feature Gina Beck, soprano, Rockland Osgood, tenor and Rene de la Garza, baritone.

The Consortium concert happens once every three years. There will be more than 300 voices participating from six colleges (Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Worcester State College), plus a full professional orchestra. Dr. Christie Nigro of Worcester State College will serve as conductor.

A pre-concert lecture will be held by Patrick Quinn, chair of the Humanities and Arts department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 2:15 p.m.
