Holy Cross gave FOX25 News exclusive access to their admissions committee to see how a student’s admission is decided.Two people on staff read the application of each student and then present the student for the committee to vote on. With 7,300 applications for 733 spaces last year, competition is tough. And there's a lot to be considered—the essay you wrote, the classes you took, and the grades you have received all come into play.“[The committee is] trying to balance academic merit and personal promise, so there’s not one formula that’s going to remove somebody or make them an absolute yes without having the whole committee really vet this through thoroughly,” says Ann McDermott, director of admissions at the College of the Holy Cross.
