‘Local conductor still passionate after 50 years’

Worcester Magazine recently featured a profile of Eric Culver, music director of the Holy Cross Chamber Orchestra and a lecturer in the music department at the College, after his performance as a conductor for the Worcester Symphonic Project in Mechanics Hall on March 22. This year, Culver, who has studied music since he first started playing the flute at age 7, will celebrate his 50th year of conducting choruses, orchestras, and bands.

“I’ve been mentored in music and I try to mentor as much as possible,” said Culver. “It’s not even a matter of creating professional musicians, it’s a matter of being in an atmosphere of creativity.”
