In a front page Telegram & Gazette story about the nationwide growth in Asian-owned businesses, Bryan Engelhardt, assistant professor of economics at the College of the Holy Cross, shared some of the reasons behind the trend.

“Minorities face significant discrimination in the workforce,” he said. “Therefore, they have more incentive to open up their own business to get around these barriers. This is even more relevant during a recession.”
