Jean Butler ’88, an economics major at the College and current executive director of the Toy Industry Foundation, is on a mission to put toys in the hands of kids in need worldwide. The Foundation believes — and research shows — the benefits of play are substantial, impacting children’s cognitive, social and emotional development, according to Danuta Bukatko, professor of psychology and distinguished professor of education, and Ara Francis, associate professor of sociology.
