A new independent feature film by Holy Cross alumnus Brendan Boogie ’98 titled “Sundown,” is about more than just the experience of losing his father to dementia, according to a feature article in the Telegram & Gazette. Lauded by critics and viewers alike, “Sundown” has found a common thread running throughout all families that suffer the loss of a loved one to dementia. “They tell me they feel like they aren’t alone, and that they had no idea someone else was going through the exact same thing,” Boogie told the Telegram, reflecting on feedback from touched viewers of the film.
After its debut in 2017, “Sundown” has received five awards across eight independent film festivals in the Northeast and has been shown in places where the film can be of service to the dementia community, including colleges, nursing homes, and meetings of dementia caretakers. “Sundown” will be shown at Holy Cross on Wednesday, March 14th, at 7 p.m. in Stein 118C.
