The design and marketing intern finds inspiration from a mentor and Holy Cross alumna

Summer Plans: Intern, Seaside Design and Digital Marketing Hometown: Centerport, NY Major: Philosophy, studio art minor

Summer Plans

This summer I'm interning remotely for Seaside Digital Design & Marketing. The company works with service-based businesses in the Cape Cod area and aims to "help female entrepreneurs create consistent digital brands to maximize revenue, traffic and brand awareness." My main project so far has been working with the Woods Hole Business Association—managing their social media pages, updating their website and creating blog posts!

Lessons Learned

As a philosophy major and studio art minor, I haven't had the same exposure to the business world as, say, an economics major or business, ethics, and society minor might. Learning more about the "back end" of companies and tools such as Google Analytics and Wordpress has been both challenging and exciting!

The Holy Cross Difference

My internship experience this summer is particularly special as the founder of Seaside Digital Design & Marketing, Jessica Morrison '99, is a Holy Cross alumna! Jessica has been such an incredible mentor. Having a similar college experience has allowed her to have a greater understanding of the skills I have gained from Holy Cross as well as skills that she can help me develop. I'm very grateful for the Holy Cross community at this time for making this opportunity possible!

What's Next

My internship experience has reinforced my interest in the arts, communications and media industries! More specifically, it has introduced me to brand strategy and creative strategy, which I would love to continue to explore in the future.
