Religious Studies Professor Urges President Biden and Congress to ‘Care For Our Common Home’

"Values and Voices" brings together leading scholars to write on pressing issues of our day

Tat-siong Benny Liew, the Class of 1956 Professor in New Testament Studies and professor of religious studies at the College of the Holy Cross, recently penned a letter addressed to president Biden, vice president Harris, and members of Congress as part of the “American Values, Religious Voices: 100 Days, 100 Letters” campaign. The national, nonpartisan campaign seeks to bring together scholars from a diverse range of religious traditions to write on shared American values and pressing issues of the day. Liew, who wrote about the importance of safeguarding the environment and “protecting our common home,” also participated in the project four years ago during the transition to the Trump administration.
