In anticipation of the upcoming release of "Marvel's Voices: Comunidades," Marvel Comics sat down with Jorge Santos, associate professor of English at Holy Cross, to discuss the new series and its impact on the representation of Latinx in comics and the media.

According to Professor Santos, who specializes in the study of comics and graphic narratives, the latest one-shot in the Marvel's Voices series turning the spotlight to Latinx characters and creators from the Marvel Universe, is an "exciting" move in the right direction.

Still, Santos says that he'd like to see increased narrative diversity in today's superhero comics as well.

"After all, we don't just look and sound different, we feel differently, think differently and tell stories about those lives differently," says Santos. "So, let's see some of those narrative traditions shape the stories themselves!"
