WATCH: Holy Cross Faculty Discuss the Living Legacy of Global Health Champion Paul Farmer

Ten years ago, global health champion Dr. Paul Farmer was an honorary degree recipient and commencement speaker at Holy Cross, telling graduates, “…the miracle of human solidarity‚Ķ when linked to both meaningful action and compassion, is something all of us, all of you, can foster in your lives and work and social networks.”

On Tuesday, March 22, Holy Cross hosted a forum titled “Curing Injustice: The Living Legacy of Dr. Paul Farmer,” in which students of anthropology, religious studies, biology,¬† ethics and health studies joined professors in an interdisciplinary conversation to consider the impact Dr. Farmer has had on them, but also on the world.

The forum was moderated by Thomas M. Landy, director of the McFarland Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture.

  • Tsitsi Masvawure, Professor of Practice in Health Studies
  • Mary Doyle Roche, Associate Professor of Religious Studies
