Consortium-Sponsored Radio Show to Focus on Habitat Efforts to Build House

WORCESTER, Mass. – Tune in to “Worcester: Academically Speaking” Oct. 29, at 7:30 a.m. on WTAG 580AM to hear host Jim Hannon and guests talk about The University House project of Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity (GWHFH). Guests include Pam Faustine, vice-president of the board of directors of GWHFH; Michael Land, assistant professor of English at Assumption College; and two Anna Maria College undergraduates, Stephanie Chiulli and Kayla Lapine. All are volunteers and will join a hundred other volunteers from Worcester area colleges, including the College of the Holy Cross, and the community in building a duplex at 2 Stowell Ave. in Worcester. Construction will start in November. Guests will also talk about student volunteer activities in the Worcester area; community service learning at Assumption, Anna Maria and other colleges; and the remarkable history and successes of Habitat for Humanity, locally and around the world. The half-hour, weekly radio program is underwritten by the Community Relations Committee of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc.
