WORCESTER, Mass. – Jon Morris, a 1964 College of the Holy Cross graduate, is one of three finalists to be inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame in 2009.
Morris played for the Patriots for 11 seasons, appearing in 130 games from 1964-1974. He earned seven consecutive American Football League All-Star appearances from 1964-1970, and his seven league All-Star selections rank second in Patriots history behind Pro Football Hall of Famer John Hannah (nine). Morris anchored an offensive line that opened holes for Jim Nance to amass a team-record 45 rushing touchdowns from 1965-1971.
During his time at Holy Cross, Morris was a three-year starter as a center and linebacker. He served as the Crusaders' team captain in 1963, and earned first team All-New England honors during his junior and senior seasons. Morris was inducted into the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1973.
