Holy Cross Spring 2007 American Sign Language and Deaf Studies Program Calendar of Events

WORCESTER, Mass. – The American Sign Language and Deaf Studies Program announces its calendar of events for the 2007 spring semester. Unless otherwise stated, all events are free and open to the public. Unless otherwise stated, the following events take place on the College of the Holy Cross campus. Feb. 12; 7 p.m. Hogan Campus Center Work on a knitting project or learn the basics of knitting, all in ASL with the ASL Club’s knitting group. Contact cnalva07@holycross.edu.

Feb 15; 3 p.m., prep and cooking. 5 p.m., dinner and activities Stein Hall, Room 526 Celebrate the Chinese New Year in ASL. Pre-registration is required. Contact Yli@holycross.edu.

Feb. 22; 5:30 p.m. Hogan Crossroads Pub Silent dinner with deaf friends and instructors in ASL. Meal tickets can be purchased for non-Holy Cross students.

Feb. 22; 7 p.m. Hogan, Room 402 Learn about the master of social work (MSW) program at Gallaudet University School of Social Work at this informational session with Audrey Frank. An interpreter will be provided.

Feb. 27; 7 p.m. McCooey Chapel in St. Joseph Chapel All are welcome to celebrate Mass in ASL with Rev. Joe Bruce.

March 22, 7 p.m. Stein Hall, Room 116 Come to the ASL Forum for an opportunity to enjoy a question-and-answer session with deaf instructors. An interpreter will be provided.

March 25; 1 - 3 p.m. Hart Center Pool DEAFinitely Swim program begins. Swim lessons for deaf, hard of hearing, children of deaf adults and siblings. Instruction in ASL. Pre-registration required; contact jfask@holycross.edu.

March 27; 7 p.m. McCooey Chapel in St. Joseph Chapel All are welcome to celebrate Mass in ASL with Rev. Joe Bruce.
